Almost Eight Months

I knew with the busy weekend and the beautiful weather today, I needed to take advantage of snapping a few shots of this toothy tooter. I can't believe he's almost another month older!

Sneaky Sneakers

Creighton needed to use the restroom (for some reason that time of the day always causes problems around our house) and when we came back into the living room, we discovered his Easter basket from school today was a bit rearranged. And then we saw this little feller. Griffin has apparently crawled from the middle of the living room into the kitchen to discover something his little nose could smell: chocolate. He had, through the wrapper, eaten an entire Reese's peanut butter egg. Some of it was smeared on my carpet, his clothes and apparently on an Easter egg. What a mess!!!

Griffin's Great Day

Today was a big day for Griffin!

He started out by just taking off and crawling all over my bedroom, right up to the mirror. I can't believe he just decided to stop backing up and just take off forward like that today. All in his own time. He loved what he found looking back at him! Then, we headed off to take brother to Mother's Day Out and sign Griffin up for Mother's Day Out in the fall. {Boo Hoo!} After we turned in our papers, we drove to the library for our first day of Baby Time at the library. Unfortunately for his brand-new crawling skills, this posed a bit of a problem when the goal is to stay put on his blanket! It was quite a fun outing for the two of us though. When the story time ended, we drove to our first playgroup just for Griffy and his new little friends. So fun!!! I can't wait to watch as he finds his own besties {and in a group of only one girl, the pickings will be great} like Big Brother did and meet some new Mommy's along the way. Again, take note, Griffin didn't care to stay put! To end this great day, we brought Parker home from school and when his mommy came to get him, she brought Ainsley in for a little visit too!
Oh, this little Griffy. You are the greatest!

Tiny Treasures

On Monday for the next six weeks, I'll be hanging with four of my most favorite little people. These tiny treasures {when not in melt down mode} melt my heart and bring me the greatest joy.

Ava Kate's Birthday

Our beautiful little Ava Kate celebrated her first birthday today with a flower party her Mommy and Daddy threw for her. I was so glad that I was able to come join in on the fun. Can't believe it's been one whole year since I was in the delivery room capturing the moment you entered this world.

Oh, you've been such a precious gift since that very moment.

Crawling.Pulling. Standing.

Who, me??? Yes, you! I can't believe it's already time for this to be happening. He is my busy, busy, busy body! If I leave him to go do something and come back, he's never in the same place. Never in the same position. Never not crawling, pulling or standing.

These toddler days are even as tiring as the newborn stage, just in a new way!

Let the March Madness begin!

On such a beautiful day in Waco, our Baylor Bears pulled off a not-so- beautiful win over the Sam Houston State Bearkats. Rootin' on our Baylor Bears! Griffin is wearing Creighton's 3T t-shirt, because I thought it was a must that he had on some Green & Gold! He has outgrown his own!

Happy St. Patty's Day to Me

Look where we are!! Back at the doctor's office!

We were in Abilene for one week. We didn't have to go to the doctor. We come home and well, here we are again.

Creighton complained all day of his head hurting and his tummy. Right before his nap, I made a late appointment to get a strep test. {He usually complains of his tummy hurting when he gets strep.} During his nap, he threw up all over my bed!

Griffin decides about the same time to have an explosion.

I am covered in puke and poop. We have thirty minutes to get in the car for our appointment.

I'm walking around smiling, because of course this would happen to me. It's turning humorous.

Creighton's in the bath. Griffin needs a bath in the worst way, but I can't put him with his brother. I shove him into the bathroom sink. Rinse him off, get him fed and then get myself cleaned up. Creighton gets out of the bath and we load up.

No strep.

Throws up again after dinner.

He looked bad. He felt worse.

All of this and we even had on our green. What does this mean for our new year?

Our Baylor Bears

The four of us headed to the Ferrell Center to wait with our Baylor Bears for the announcement of the NCAA tournament bracket. We were thrilled to learn our Bears were a #3 seed and heading to New Orleans. Sic Em Bears!

Finally We Meet

The boys and I took a little drive across Abilene for a play date with a childhood friend of mine, his wife and their two boys. I've been reading his wife's blog for a while now and though we had never technically met in person {besides a "hello" at someone's wedding we can't remember}, I feel like I know her as a sweet friend of mine. When they made a trip from Mississippi to Abilene to stay with his family, I made sure I was going to be in town. We finally met and our boys finally played together. Jack {3; 2 months younger than Creighton} and Sam {4 months old} Mullins & Griffin {7 months old} and Creighton {3 years old} Polnick. The two older boys look exactly like their dads and the two babies are still on debate for lookin' like us mamas! These pictures were taken after two hours of playing outside on the swing set, the 4 wheeler {which apparently we need now},the Gator and eating who-knows-how-many cookies Gumbea {their grandmother} made for the boys. It was a great day to spend catching up with Neil and his family and getting to know his wife face to face.

I knew both of my boys fell asleep on the way somewhere between Mimi's house and their house, but when I opened the back door, I never expected to find them like this. I'll be honest, the mere sight, almost made me cry.
I unloaded them and well, I should have let them sleep. Creighton basically went mute for the first hour. Jack and his cousin, Camp, were so confused as to why he wouldn't speak to them. In fact, they both at some point said, "Hey, why aren't you talking to me!" Sorry, it comes by him naturally! He finally warmed up and though he wasn't himself until we were back in the car, he said he had a really fun time.
I can't wait until they come back to A-town for another family visit. I'll be sure to be there again.

Just Like Pop-Pop

These two were insistant on wearing Pop-Pop's caps and riding around in their "riding mower." Of course, they were shooting their guns out of their "mower" at the bad guys. Trouble!

The Wheels on the Bus

Both in their new baseball pants, Deacon and Creighton take a few rides around A-Town on Pawpa Bob's Citylink Bus. He looks pretty cute for a 70 year old Great Grandpa!

Toting Tubby

Creighton toted his little brother in the Gator around Mimi and Pop-Pop's backyard. Of course, I was close behind to catch him if he toppled over.

Spring Break

The boys and I retreated to Abilene for Spring Break while Benjie and his buds are in Kansas City for the Big 12 Tournament. Do you think these guys are having fun at Mimi and Pop-Pop's?

So Long

Another chapter closes in this season of our life. Tristan and Creighton cheering for Tweety and Josh's last Baylor home game when the Bears beat the Horns. Gonna miss seeing these boys dancin' around at the games, trying to win a pizza or the affection of a cheerleader or just dancing to the beat. Fun memories of a great season.

Dance Party

My fun lovin' bestie of a friend, Nic, turned the big 30 this week and her hubby, Brent, threw her a dance party. I, however, didn't dance! You may wonder how two so outwardly opposite can be so close. It happens! I'm just glad she loves me the same with my teacher cardigan opposed to her sassy dress!

Happy Birthday, my dear friend.

Hillmans and Health Camp

The Hillmans {Michael and Sawyer} ate at Health Camp with us for our letter of the week field trip. An outing is always more fun with friends!
